Explore creative textile processes with award winning designer Rebecca Marsden through a series of 3 workshops investigating textile processes for use in dress making and textile design. Suitable for those who are simply curious about textiles and for anyone looking to expand their existing knowledge and skill set
Shibori Dying and Steaming: Scarf workshop: Learn about the ancient Japanese art of Shibori indigo dying and steaming. Create your own Shibori scarf and 2 fabric samples using these methods.
Felting: Explore 3D wet felting techniques suitable for decorative objects, bowls, jewellery making, fashion and fibre craft projects. During this session you will create a range of solid and hollow felted forms and explore ways to embellish your felted forms.
Batik: Batik is an ancient fabric dyeing technique where hot wax is applied in layers as a resist on cloth. During this session you will create 2 samples with up to three layers of wax illustration and textile dyes.
